Lorem Ipsum has been the printing industry’s standard filler since the sixteenth century, and it survives for a practical reason. Real copy invites a conversation about the copy; a stakeholder reads it, reacts to the wording, and the discussion about layout never happens. Text that carries no meaning keeps attention on typography, spacing and hierarchy, which is what a draft is meant to be reviewed for.

It also has roughly the same distribution of word and sentence lengths as ordinary Latin-alphabet prose, so a block of it occupies about the space real text will. Strings of repeated characters do not, which is why designers keep coming back to this particular passage.
