Find Facebook ID
Look up the numeric ID behind a Facebook page or profile URL.
A Facebook page can be reached at a friendly address like facebook.com/yourbusiness, but almost every tool that actually integrates with Facebook — the Graph API, an ads platform, an embed widget — wants the long numeric ID behind that name instead.
Looking up a numeric Facebook ID
- Copy the full URL of the public page or profile, such as
facebook.com/yourbusiness. - Paste it into the lookup above.
- The tool resolves the vanity username to its underlying numeric ID.
- Copy the numeric ID for use in the Graph API, an ads platform or an embed code.
- Double-check you have the page, not a personal profile, if that is what the integration expects.
Why the numeric ID, not the username, is what integrations ask for
- The Graph API — endpoints are addressed by ID, such as
graph.facebook.com/{page-id}, and while some also accept a username, the ID is the stable, documented reference. - Ads Manager custom audiences and targeting — connecting a page to an ad account or building a Page-based custom audience is done by its numeric ID.
- Embed plugins and widgets — a Page Plugin or comments widget frequently asks for the ID or URL specifically, and having the ID on hand avoids ambiguity if the username later changes.
- A username can change; the ID cannot — a page or profile can update its vanity URL at any time, but the underlying numeric ID it was assigned stays fixed for the life of the account.
What this is, and is not, for
- It looks up a public page or profile’s own identifying number, the same kind of information visible on the page itself and in Facebook’s own Page Transparency section.
- It does not access anyone’s private data, posts, friends list or any information not already publicly visible on the page.
- It only works on genuinely public pages and profiles; a private or restricted account has nothing public to resolve.
- It is aimed at the ordinary developer and marketer task of getting an ID for API calls, not at any kind of account investigation.
Finding a Facebook ID: questions
What does a Facebook page ID actually look like?
A string of digits, typically ten or more characters long, with no other formatting. It has no relationship to the page’s name or vanity URL, which is precisely why a lookup is needed rather than just reading the address bar.
Why do I need the numeric ID if I already have the page URL?
Some tools, particularly the Graph API and certain ad and analytics integrations, are built to reference a page strictly by its numeric ID rather than its current username, partly because the username is changeable and the ID is not.
Does a personal profile have an ID too, separate from a page?
Yes, personal profiles and business pages are both assigned their own numeric ID, though the ways you are able to look each one up and what you can do with it differ.
Can the numeric ID change if the page renames itself?
No, that is its entire purpose. A page can change its vanity username as often as Facebook’s rules allow, but the numeric ID assigned when the page was created stays the same throughout.
Does this tool access private information?
No. It only resolves publicly visible identifying information for a public page or profile, the same information Facebook itself displays, and does not touch private data of any kind.
